And now, with the party away from them and people focused on Luffy rather than two bickering battlers, they're alone to deal with their nonsense together and unchecked.
It's the same old story, mixed up with different banter and moves, but still it feels good for Sanji somehow. Even if they end up passed out next to each other, still dreaming about who's going to win, this is something of a language that they actually know how to speak. When words fail, swords and kicks don't. And he doesn't have to think beyond his next move when they're fighting this way.
