[Rosinante disappeared out of the blue one night, though he'd had the kindness to leave a note for Law - well, both of them. Staying on the Strawhat ship feels claustrophobic and chaotic alternatively and he needed some time away to think.
To work, also. Doflamingo has been quiet for so long that it felt like it was worth the risk, and he now feels confident that Sengoku has his back as much as is practical for a man in his position.
The note read simply: "Out for a few days, minor errand SmartSnail will be silenced. I promise I'm fine. Stick together."
When he returns, there's an obvious lump under his coat - his bag must be full of something bulkier than before. It's night once again and though he makes no sound as he walks back onto the deck where the Sunny is docked, he might be seen anyway by any of the Straw Hat crew who are keeping watch.
But on boarding, he heads to where the Laws have been bunking, child and adult. Wakes both up if they're there, with a finger to his lips, then a snap of his fingers to pop up a dome of silence so they can speak freely.]
Hey. You can go back to sleep, but I wanted to let you know I'm back.
[Maybe they weren't sleeping anyway, knowing these anxious idiots. They can talk now or in the morning, but he cares too much about them to let his return be a surprise on waking up.]
